How To Use The Calculator:
Fill in the required input fields with the respective values:
- Room Length, Width, and Height in meters.
- Number of windows and the total area of all windows in square meters.
- Number of doors in the room.
- Number of people occupying the room.
- Total heat load generated by any equipment in watts.
- Sun Exposure Intensity with 1 being low, 2 being medium, and 3 being high.
Once you have filled in all the values, click on the “Calculate” button to get the estimated heat load (cooling requirement) in BTU.
How It Calculates The Results:
The calculator uses the following formula to estimate the cooling requirements:
- Room Volume (length × width × height)
- Window Heat Gain (total window area × 300 BTUs/m²)
- Door Heat Gain (number of doors × 500 BTUs)
- Occupant Heat Gain (number of occupants × 100 BTUs)
- Equipment Heat Load (in watts, converted to BTUs)
- Sun Exposure Intensity is factored in as a multiplier (1 for low, 1.5 for medium, and 2 for high exposure)
