Alcohol Estimator – Calculate Your Alcohol Consumption

This tool estimates your blood alcohol concentration based on the drinks you’ve had and your personal details.

How to Use the Alcohol Estimator

This calculator helps you estimate your Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) based on your weight, gender, the number of drinks you’ve consumed, and the time elapsed since your first drink.

Simply fill out the following fields:

  • Weight: Your weight in kilograms.
  • Gender: Your gender (to account for different alcohol distribution ratios).
  • Number of Standard Drinks: Each standard drink typically contains 14 grams of alcohol.
  • Hours Since First Drink: The time in hours since you started drinking.

Press the “Calculate” button to get your estimated BAC.

How It Calculates the Results

The BAC is calculated using the Widmark formula which takes into account the total alcohol consumed, your body weight, and an alcohol distribution ratio that varies by gender. The formula also considers the metabolism rate of alcohol over time.

The formula is generally as follows:

BAC = (Total Alcohol Consumed / (Body Weight * Alcohol Distribution Ratio)) * 100
Final BAC = BAC - (Metabolism Rate per Hour * Hours Since First Drink)

Total Alcohol Consumed is the product of the number of drinks and the grams of alcohol per drink (14g).

Limitations of the Calculator

  • This calculator provides an estimate and cannot account for all individual variations like health conditions, medications, and food intake.
  • Your actual BAC can vary based on numerous factors including metabolism, tolerance, and hydration levels.
  • Always exercise caution and consider other factors before deciding whether to drive or operate machinery.
  • This calculator should not be used as a legal or medical tool.
