TPU Estimator – Accurate TPU Cost Calculator

This tool will help you estimate the total TPU (Tensor Processing Unit) costs for your machine learning projects.

How to Use This TPU Estimator

This estimator helps calculate the cost of using TPU resources based on the selected model type, number of node hours, number of replicas, and the TPU topology. Please follow these steps:

  1. Select the Model Type from the dropdown menu. Options include Default TPU, TPU v2, TPU v3, and TPU v4.
  2. Input the Number of TPU Node Hours you plan to use. This should be a positive integer.
  3. Input the Number of Replicas you plan to use. This should be a positive integer as well.
  4. Select the TPU Topology, either Single or Pod.
  5. Click on the Calculate button to see the estimated cost.

How the Calculations Work

The calculator multiplies the number of TPU node hours by the number of replicas and then multiplies this value by the cost per hour for the selected model type and topology. The cost per hour varies depending on the chosen model and topology:

  • Default TPU: Single ($4.50/hour), Pod ($32.00/hour)
  • TPU v2: Single ($8.00/hour), Pod ($64.00/hour)
  • TPU v3: Single ($8.00/hour), Pod ($100.00/hour)
  • TPU v4: Single ($4.00/hour), Pod ($100.00/hour)

Limitations

This calculator provides only an estimate and should not be used as a definitive measure of actual costs. Costs can vary based on numerous factors, including but not limited to regional pricing differences and specific configurations not accounted for in this simple estimator. Always consult your TPU service provider for precise pricing details.
