FPS Estimator – Accurate Frame Rate Calculator

This tool helps you estimate the frame rate for your game or application based on your system’s specifications.

How to Use the FPS Estimator

To use the FPS estimator, fill in all the required fields with the specifications of your system and your desired game settings:

  • Resolution Width and Height: Enter the resolution in pixels that you plan to play the game at.
  • Graphics Quality: Choose the graphics quality preset you want from the dropdown. Options are Low, Medium, High, and Ultra.
  • CPU Cores: Enter the number of cores your CPU has.
  • CPU Speed: Enter the speed of your CPU in GHz.
  • GPU Power: Enter the power of your GPU in TFLOPS.
  • RAM Size: Enter the amount of RAM in your system in GB.

Once you’ve filled in all the fields, click the Calculate button. The FPS estimation will be displayed in the result field.

Calculation Explanation

The FPS estimation is calculated based on the following formula:

FPS = (Base Performance) * (Resolution Factor) * (Quality Factor)

Base Performance = CPU Speed * CPU Cores * GPU Power * RAM Size

Resolution Factor = (1920 * 1080) / (Resolution Width * Resolution Height)

Quality Factor:
- Low = 1.5
- Medium = 1.0
- High = 0.75
- Ultra = 0.5

Note: This formula is a simple approximation and cannot perfectly predict the actual FPS, as performance can vary based on many other factors not accounted for in the formula.

Limitations

Keep in mind the following limitations of the FPS estimator:

  • The estimator does not account for all variables that can affect performance, such as game optimization, driver updates, background tasks, and thermal throttling.
  • The quality factor values are generalized and may not perfectly match the specific game you are playing.
  • Ultimately, real-world performance should be measured with actual benchmarks for the most accurate results.
